This Quality Assurance Policy reflects the company’s total commitment to achieving the goal of meeting, and even exceeding, the needs of our customers efficiently and safely. The purpose of this Quality Policy is to implement and continuously maintain our commitment to the following objectives through a dynamic Quality Assurance System based on the international ISO 9001:2008 standard:
· CATERING & SUPERMARKET LTD is a Catering & Hospitality Company that services Camps Management, Industrial Catering, Housekeeping, Laundry and Janitorial Services to the Oil and Gas Industry.
· Beingcommitted to the efficient delivery of safe and reliable services worldwide, ENS Catering will supply supreme quality products and services that might sometimes even exceed the standards required by our customers and by law.
· Quality control is an integral part of all ENS’s management and production processes. To keep our clients happy and satisfied, we at ENS believe that human, technical, and material resources are needed in order to reach the maximum production results consistent with the highest possible quality standards. This is why each and every aspect of the day-to-day operations of the corporation shall be conducted in accordance with the quality policies contained in this manual, with no exceptions.
· Each and every employee, including management, is expected to understand and work towards our quality commitment.
· The Quality Manager is responsible for the implementation and ongoing supervision of the procedures contained in our Quality manual. The administrative responsibility of this Quality Policy complements but in no way reduces or removes the line responsibility of managers or employees of their quality control duties. Quality is everyone’s business. There are no exceptions. Any problems that cannot be resolved through normal interdepartmental channels are to be immediately referred to the CEO.
The health and safety issues are main concerns of ENS. This is why, it is the policy of ENS CATERING AND SUPERMARKET LTD to carry out its activities in such a manner that no fatality, serious injuries, dangerous occurrences or damage to property occur during work performance. We will take all necessary measures and procedures in order to assure the safety of all employees as well as third party members and visitors. We encourage positive attitudes towards safety and hygiene through rewarding those who act accordingly.
Detailed safety procedures are to be followed to the letter, and must be implemented by the Field Supervisors. In order to ensure premium performance, we will constantly identify any causes to future accidents or hazards in order to minimize any loss.
We know that work may affect the functions of the human body. It is therefore essential that early recognition of occupational health hazards is established, monitored and controlled to as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP).
In order to minimize the health and hygiene risks, the following measures will be taken:
· The Company will retain the services of an approved Clinical and Resident Doctor to take care of the workers.
· The Company shall place great emphasis on the implementation and promotion of the CLIENT’s health and hygiene standards and the protection of workers.
· ENS will engage all employees in training of basic personal and environmental hygiene, correct procedures of food handling and general cleaning / welfare.
This policy will be duly communicated to all employees through tailgate meetings, and will be reviewed on a yearly basis and on contract change or revision.
For us, all incidents can be prevented and all our employees must feel safe to come to work, knowing that extreme safety measures are being taken.
At ENS we take pride on offering our services based on trust, knowing that our employees are honest and hard workers. Catering services calls for a high level of trust and confidence; the client should rest assured that his property will be treated with respect. It is our policy not to betray this confidence by ensuring that all the personnel perform their works with honesty forour clients.
We at ENS are committed to ensuring a clean and healthy environment, especially in the course of our work, while taking the environmental sanitation programme seriously. We know that lighting, ventilation, humidity and effects of extremes of temperature influence health at work. We will make every effort to minimize dust release, structured use and disposal of Kitchen waste.
To this end, all wastes will be divided into bio- degradable, solid waste and oils, and disposed inside specially marked bins for each waste type.
Due care shall be taken to observe all local and national rules and regulations on waste disposal. We expect of every employee to provide healthy and hygienically acceptable conditions both at home and work. Adequate housekeeping exercise should be performed during and after work that produces waste materials so as to ensure an incident and injury free workday.
It is essential that individuals are aware of and actively participate in the company’s arrangement for the control and supervision of their health, and Safety at work and of our client’s.
CATERING AND SUPERMARKET LTD works on maintaining a healthy and productive work place for the employees. We believe that drug and alcohol abuse will impair work performance and cause hazardous incidents on the work ground, as well as threatening work productivity and even the lives of others.
Therefore, the company aims to ensure that all employees recognize this threat, and are committed to eliminating the risks involved. In order to achieve this, the following rules shall apply and are part of the employee’s conditions of employment.
ENSCATERING recognizes alcohol or drug dependence as treatable conditions. Employees who have an alcohol or drug dependence are encouraged to seek medical advice and to follow appropriate treatment promptly. The company will assist an employee to obtain treatment and employees who seek such help will not place their employment in jeopardy by doing so, although alternative work may be considered.
Being at work whilst impaired by drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited.The illicit use of legal drugs or the use, possession, distribution or sale of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited.
ENS CATERING may conduct unannounced searches for drugs and alcohol on the company’s location. They may also require employees to submit to alcohol and drug testing where good reason exists to suspect alcohol or drug abuse. Unannounced, periodic or random testing maybe conducted when an employee meets any of the following conditions.
If a test result is positive, on a first time only basis, the employee may be allowed to continue in his Job provided there is compliance with the company’s rules and the appropriate rehabilitation procedures (e.g. Education, counseling, treatment and unannounced testing).
Dismissal will normally occur in the following circumstances:
· Failure to co-operate with the implementation of these rules.
· Failure to comply with the appropriate rehabilitation procedures.
· The use, possession, distribution or sale of illegal drugs.
· The use or possession of alcohol on the company’s location, unless previously authorized and after working hours and the use or possession of alcohol at safety, security and environmentally sensitive positions.
ENS Contracting will require that all our subcontractors’ employees are drugs or alcohol free on the company’s work locations.
Our Host Community is an integral part of our operations. It is ENS Catering’s policy to involve the host community in all areas of our operations without compromising quality, health and safety. Therefore, the Host community (ies) shall be engaged in the following areas:
Labour (Employment):
A major part of our employment requirements for unskilled and semi-skilled staff is reserved for the host community(ies).
Every community staff employed is integrated into the Company’s training plan and career development program which presents them with the opportunity of growing in the company. This helps in motivating the community and boosting their sense of belonging to ENS Catering as well as to the client.
Supply (Materials):
Local suppliers are engaged from the community. However this engagement is subject to the understanding that these local supplies do not compromise the quality of our services. The local suppliers are also educated on the proper methods of supply in order to ensure that the supplied items meet our quality assurance requirements.
Sub-Contracts:
A portion of any sub-contracts may be given to the community (ies) as long as such community contractors are qualified as per the contract requirements. We encourage such contractors to have an HSE plan and program. However, all aspects of the contractor’s work will be closely supervised by ENS Catering personnel.
Engagement of Community Relation Liaison Officer:
For the purpose of prompt response to community issues that may arise during the course of our operations at our Client’s location, ENS Catering Nigeria Limited engages the service of a credible Community Liaison Officer from the host community. This CLO will foster opportunities for discussions with recognized and duly constituted authorities
